Urban Green Council is a New York-based non-profit trying to transform buildings for a sustainable future. Urban Green Council believes the critical issue facing the world today is climate change. Urban Green is focusing efforts to improve the energy efficiency of buildings, which in New York City consume 95 percent of electricity, emit 70 percent of carbon and use 80 percent of water. As Urban Green help improve building sustainability in New York City and around the world, the non-profit can help deliver a more resilient, efficient, healthy, and affordable future.

Urban Green Council believes climate change demands dramatic and immediate shifts in how we design and use buildings. Urban Green is laser-focused on helping New York City achieve an 80 percent carbon reduction by 2050 and exporting solutions globally. Urban Green’s three-year plan prioritizes four key strategies: bring the retrofit market to scale, advance sustainable building policies, educate building professionals, and scale global solutions.
