GiveDirectly to the world’s poorest

Share good news. Ignite change.

How can we support those living in extreme poverty, especially those halfway around the world?

GiveDirectly is the first — and largest — nonprofit that lets donors like you send money directly to the world’s poorest. Anyone can use it to send one-time or recurring payments. GiveDirectly will take your money and give it, directly, to those most in need. Easy!

Since 2009, GiveDirectly has delivered over $300 million in cash directly into the hands of over 500,000 families living in poverty. It is also leading the world’s largest and longest term experiment to date studying the effects of a Universal Basic Income. It believes the best way to support those in poverty is to simply offer them more resources and enable them to spend it in the way that will best support them, their families, and their communities. Kindling agrees!
