Ben & Jerry’s, The Coca-Cola Company, Eddie Bauer, The Hershey Company, Levi Strauss & Co., Magnolia Pictures, The North Face, Patagonia, REI, Unilever, Verizon, and more have boycotted Facebook advertisements as the company declined to take action against misinformation from President Trump — the same ones that Twitter flagged as misleading or glorifying violence.
The truth is: social media isn’t eroding how we interact with one another. It’s changing it. Society isn’t collapsing. It’s changing.
The work is not in convincing those who don’t think like us to think differently. The work is in encouraging those who do to step up and act.
