Belgium’s multi-party coalition government has approved new labor market reforms to allow all workers in the country, public and private, to choose to work four days a week. In addition, workers now have the right to turn off work-related devices to ignore work messages without fear of reprisal from their bosses during non-work hours. The prime minister of Belgium Alexander de Croo believes that the agreement will make the country’s workers healthier and its businesses stronger.
The country is hoping that an improved work-life balance will not only make the country one of the best places to live on Earth, but also a great place to do business.
