Love is the action. Kindness is the belief

It is the belief that we are all fundamentally together, fundamentally part of a greater whole, beautifully different sides of the same truth, droplets in the vast ocean of existence. When we are alive, we fall as rain side by side. When we die, we return back to one another.

This belief can’t ever really be proven or disproven. It will always feel a bit flowery or unscientific for some. We may always have that nagging feeling that we are just blindly convincing ourselves of something reassuring. We might have to live out our lives simply choosing to believe it without hard evidence.

But that is my chosen religion. That is the hill I want to die on.

What is yours?
