Hibernation

Happy winter! For millennia, many humans would have no choice but to use this time to slow down and recuperate. It was the natural world’s permission for us to rest and reflect on our year.

In today’s society, it can feel nearly impossible to find that space to reflect. In fact, for me, it can even feel selfish, undisciplined, and irresponsible. With so much going, who has time to slow down? Why should I get to slow when others don’t have that privilege?

My wish for you this holiday season is that you find some time and space to hibernate, to gestate on what came up for you this year, and to birth some new piece of you that has been yearning to come out. What inside of you might starting making itself heard if just given the stillness and space?
